The Club Carlson program has announced a huge devaluation in
their program. Previously, the best benefit of owning the Club Carlson Visa
card was their free night bonus for every booking of 2 or more nights. In
effect, you were able to book two night stays using one night’s worth of
points. That benefit is being taken away and will be replaced by a one-night
stay certificate that is only good for US properties and that you have to
qualify for by spending at least $10,000 per card year. OUCH!
This devaluation hurts especially for Europe as the best redemption
of Club Carlson points was typically for Radisson Blu properties in Europe.
This update highlights the ever changing nature of this hobby.
