Daily Getaways

For the past five years, the US Travel Association has promoted an annual travel discount event during the spring called Daily Getaways. It’s coming back on March 23 for its sixth year. Sneak previews of what will be available begin a week prior, on March 16.

Every weekday for three weeks, discounted deals of up to 50% off are made available on a first come, first serve basis. The competition is very high for these deals. Deals include hotel stays, car rentals, vacation packages, and attraction tickets. One deal that I have gotten in the past is Choice Hotel points. Overall not the most useful, but also a rather difficult hotel program in which to gather points. My favorite use of Choice points is to book the Comfort Suites Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas. It is immediately adjacent to Atlantis. Along with your lodging, you also receive four all-access property passes for Atlantis. A much more budget-conscious option of enjoying all that is to enjoy at the Atlantis.

One huge caveat on the above program. I am not over exaggerating when I say that competition is very high. When the deals go on sale, they are most often sold out within the first few minutes. So even if you have the time to be online when the deal goes live, you still have an iffy chance at getting any of the deals. But if you are lucky enough to get one of the deals, then it would be a nice savings for your travel plans.
